Vol. 263 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wildlife Bill.

27.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to introduce the Wildlife Bill; if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the absence of parliamentary time this season I propose to introduce the Bill next spring.

Would the Minister not agree that the time in which it has been promised to introduce this very important Bill has been lengthened and that the Bill should be introduced at the earliest date possible?

Yes. I would have liked to have introduced the Bill during this session but, as the Deputy is aware, there was a lot of pressure in regard to parliamentary time because of the EEC and other business.

Has the Bill been drafted yet?

It is ready for introduction except for one or two minor points that are being clarified.
