Vol. 265 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Discussions with British Prime Minister.

35.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will give details of the discussions which he had with the British Prime Minister.

At my meeting with the British Prime Minister on 15th March we discussed a number of aspects of the Northern Ireland situation and the British Government's promised White Paper on the North. The meeting was in the nature of a followup to the meetings which the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste had with Mr. Heath during the previous week and my purpose was to reinforce the views of the new Government on certain aspects of the situation which had been conveyed to the British Prime Minister through our Ambassador in London that morning and to elaborate on some of the points made.

It would not be in accordance with usual practice to disclose details of what was discussed.
