Vol. 265 No. 5

Written Answers. - Revision of Holdings.

190.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will consider revising upwards the figure of 45 adjusted acres as the standard to which the Land Commission aims to bring small-holders.

Under current land settlement policy, holdings and enlargements are planned to provide family farms of 40 to 45 acres of good land or the equivalent in land of mixed quality. The question as to whether this policy needs amendment is at present under consideration in conjunction with the general review of Land Commission policy necessitated by the application here of structural improvement measures adopted by the EEC.
