Vol. 265 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Language Policy.

43.

asked the Minister for Education the Government's policy on the Irish language.

I have already announced the Government's plans in relation to the place of Irish in the school curriculum and the examination system.

The question refers to the Government's policy on the Irish language. If it was not appropriate to the Minister for Education, could the question not have been directed to the appropriate Minister for correct answering? The question does not mention Irish in schools.

I am afraid the Chair is not responsible for the answers of any Minister.
