asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange for the payment of maternity allowances to unmarried mothers without social insurance.

As I indicated in reply to a question on the 2nd May, a review of the social assistance services is being carried out. The income needs of unmarried mothers are being considered in that review.
