Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Lands (a) the number of acres of land acquired by the Land Commission in County Galway for each of the four years ended on 31st March, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973, (b) the number of acres allotted to applicants for each of the years and (c) the total number of acres in the possession of the Land Commission on 31st March, 1973.

The reply takes the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

The acreage in possession of the Land Commission in County Galway at 31st March, 1973, was 22,900 acres approximately of which about 9,000 is classified as arable.
