Vol. 265 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Site Development.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government how the re-development of the Moore Street/ Parnell Street area of Dublin will proceed.

This is a matter for Dublin Corporation. I understand that they have prepared a redevelopment scheme for a site of approximately eight acres bounded by Moore Street/ Parnell Street/Chapel Lane and propose to have the redevelopment carried out on a phased basis. I understand also that they have invited tenders for the carrying out of phase one of the development; the acceptance of a suitable tender is a matter for them. I understand also that they will consider at a later stage the question of inviting tenders for the carrying out of phases two and three of the proposed redevelopment.

Could I ask the Minister if it is proposed to have a Moore Street market in the re-development?

I am sorry, I have not got that information.

17.

(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Local Government the plans Dublin Corporation have for the development of the site at present used for the Dublin cattle market.

This is a matter for Dublin Corporation. I understand that plans for the use of the site have not yet been formulated.
