Vol. 265 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Piers.

39.

asked the Minister for Finance when he proposes to build a pier at Roonagh, County Mayo.

Mr. Kenny

A proposal to extend the existing pier at Roonagh has been investigated. Drawings are with Mayo County Council for consideration and, pending the council's decision on them, I am not in a position to say when the work may proceed.

40.

asked the Minister for Finance when his Department propose to accept tenders for the building of Ballyglass pier, County Mayo.

Mr. Kenny

A boring survey to determine the site conditions has been completed, and a draft design for the scheme is under discussion with Mayo County Council. If agreement is reached at an early date on the draft design and other preliminary arrangements proceed according to plan it is hoped that a contract for the work will be placed in the latter half of 1974.
