Vol. 266 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow Lands.

64.

asked the Minister for Lands whether any lands in County Wicklow have been inspected by officers of his Department with a view to acquisition; and, if so, if he will state their location.

(Cavan): The Land Commission have recently carried out a detailed inspection of a 116 acre property four miles east of Tinahely, County Wicklow, with a view to determining whether acquisition proceedings should be instituted.

In addition, proceedings are at present in progress for the compulsory acquisition or voluntary purchase of a total of 852 acres in County Wicklow. If the Deputy requires the location of the cases which are the subject of compulsory acquisition proceedings I shall arrange to have the information sent to him.

At 31st March, 1973, the Forest and Wildlife Service had on offer for State forestry purposes 104 cases involving a total of 21,817 acres in County Wicklow. These cases are being examined by the forestry inspectors but it is not the practice to give details of location or ownership of cases on offer.
