Vol. 266 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East Wall (Dublin) Garda Station

42.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will consider the provision of a Garda station in the East Wall area of Dublin.

(Cavan): The Commissioner of the Garda Síochána does not consider it necessary to provide a Garda station in the area in question but he is considering an increase in the number of gardaí assigned to the district in which the area lies.

Is the Minister aware of the widespread dissatisfaction of the traders and the general public in the area because of the lack of proper Garda supervision? This area is served by the Fitzgibbon Street Station and it is impossible for the gardaí to get to it in a busy period?

(Cavan): I will bring the information contained in the Deputy's supplementary question to the attention of the Minister for Justice.
