asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the total acreage of beet in the Mallow sugar factory area, County Cork; the number of growers; and the acreage of the highest and the lowest grower.
Contracts have been granted for the growing in 1973 of 24,500 acres of sugar beet for delivery to the sugar factory in Mallow, County Cork. There are 3,500 growers involved. The highest individual acreage under contract is 160 and the lowest is one.
