Vol. 267 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post Office Users Council.

34.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to establish a post office users council; and if he will outline the proposed functions of the council.

Prior consultations with certain other Government Departments and with other organisations are necessary before the post office users council can be set up. For that reason I cannot at this point say definitely when the council will come into being. The necessary preliminary steps are now being taken in my Department.

I have in mind that the functions of the council will be broadly as visualised in the National Prices Commission Occasional Paper No. 6 subject to any modifications that may be found advisable.
