Vol. 267 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Personal Injuries Actions.

18.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of personal injuries actions set down or at present awaiting trial; and the number of cases dealt with in the past year.

Court statistics are not compiled in such a way as readily to provide the information required by the Deputy.

To obtain the required information, it would be necessary to peruse all files on civil actions in all court offices and this is not practicable.

Have there been any complaints in respect of these delays?

I am aware that there is dissatisfaction about the length of time it takes civil actions to come to trial.
