Vol. 267 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Galway School.

355.

asked the Minister for Education if he will reconsider the closing of Kilbeacanty National School, County Galway, in view of the fact that there are 55 children attending this two-teacher three-roomed school.

When, on 3rd July, 1973, I replied to a question regarding the proposed closing of Kilbeacanty national school my understanding was that the parents of the school district were agreeable to its being amalgamated with Scoil Náisiúnta Bhaile Tuirinne, when the latter school has been suitably extended and renovated. More recent information suggests, however, that the parents concerned are anxious that the Kilbeacanty school be retained. I shall, in the circumstances, have the matter reconsidered.
