Vol. 267 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pension Increases.

70.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether a social welfare officer investigates each case where pensioners are entitled to increases under the Social Welfare Act, 1973; and if these cases in turn go before local pension committees.

The answer is "No". Pensions are automatically revised in such cases in my Department and the higher rates are paid without the investigation referred to by the Deputy.
