Vol. 267 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - EEC Aid for Islanders.

98.

asked the Minister for Finance if there are any EEC funds which he can avail of to improve the lot of people inhabiting the islands along the Irish coast.

While there are no EEC funds specifically directed to improving the lot of people living on islands, the islands along the Irish coast could, however, be expected to benefit from Community resources to aid less developed areas.

Information on these funds is given in the White Paper on the Accession of Ireland to the European Communities, and in the First Report on developments in the European Communities, to which I would refer the Deputy.
