Vol. 267 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Harbour.

28.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, if he will indicate in respect of the site and boring survey for Greencastle Harbour, County Donegal, the estimated cost of which was £21,000 (a) the date on which sanction of his Department was given, (b) the cause of the delay, and (c) the approximate commencement and completion dates of the survey.

The grant for the survey was sanctioned on 21st February, 1973, and on the next day the Office of Public Works was asked by my Department to commence the work as soon as possible. The Office of Public Works stated at the time that it hoped to commence the survey in August of this year when it had completed work on which its equipment was already engaged at other harbours. My Department has now been informed that the survey will in fact be commenced in August and that it is expected to be completed in about ten months.
