asked the Minister for Defence the basic rates of pay, wage adjustment and overtime rates of non-craftsmen civilian employees of his Department in the form of a reply of 4th February, 1969.

The following is the information requested in so far as rates of pay are concerned. Wage adjustments have been made, or are in the course of being made, from the appropriate dates, for the various categories of civilian employees concerned in accordance with the terms of the "13th Round" and "14th Round" National Agreements.

Overtime Rates

Overtime rates of non-craftsmen civilian employees in so far as the rates can readily be supplied are as indicated in reply to question No. 174 of 4th February, 1969, with the exception of clerical classes. In the latter case overtime rates were revised as follows, with effect from 1st April 1972, for authorised extra attendance in the normal working week—

First 6½ hours Rate plus one quarter

Next 6 hours Rate plus one half

Thereafter Double rate

A revision of overtime rates, for employees paid the Building Trade Labourers' rate, and allied classes, is at present under consideration.
