Vol. 267 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Greyhound Racing.

5.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (a) the total number of greyhound track meetings held last year (b) the admission fees charged to the public and (c) the total number of paid patrons who attend each meeting.

In 1972 1,818 meetings were held and admission fees charged ranged from 30p to 10p at Dublin tracks and from 25p to 15p at other tracks. I have no information as to the number of paid patrons who attended each meeting but the aggregate attendances at all meetings in 1972 amounted to 900,129.

Would the Minister assure the House that he is satisfied with the chairmanship of Bord na gCon——

This is a separate question.

——that he is satisfied with the greyhound industry generally——

This is expanding the scope of the question.

——and what it involves in regard to exports?

These, of course, are separate questions.
