Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - Free School Transport.

164.

asked the Minister for Education the manner in which applications in respect of free school transport on medical grounds are decided.

Free transport to the nearest suitable school is provided for school children, ineligible under the normal distance regulations, who have serious physical or mental handicaps which would preclude them from walking or cycling to school. Each case is decided on its merits on the basis of the medical evidence submitted.
