Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - Bigamy Cases.

178.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases of bigamy that have been before the courts in the past ten years.

The particulars sought by the Deputy are furnished in the annual reports of the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána on crime, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.

The Commissioner's report for 1972 will be published shortly but I understand that there were no cases of bigamy reported or known to the Garda during that year.

The total number of such cases reported or known to the Garda during the ten years ended on 30th September, 1972, was ten.
