Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - Noise Abatement Grant.

257.

asked the Minister for Local Government the amount of the grant which he is prepared to make to householders to offset the cost of insulating their homes against noise arising from aircraft operations; and the radius within which such grants will be payable.

Applications for grants for the insulation of private houses against serious noise problems arising from aircraft operations or other causes will be considered under the terms of the existing scheme of reconstruction grants. The maximum State grant under this scheme is £200. As noise problems other than those created by aircraft operations will be considered for grant purposes there is no area limitation.
