Vol. 268 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Cork Sewerage Grant.

148.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make arrangements to pay a sewerage grant to a person in County Cork (name supplied) who applied for it some time ago.

There is no record of a current application from this person for a sewerage grant. He was, however, an applicant for a new house grant through Duhallow Building Society and, in August, 1962, was allocated a grant of £185 for a house without water and sewerage facilities. This allocation was later increased to £260 on his undertaking to provide water and sewerage services.

A total of £257—£260 less a reduction of £3 for the omission of flue linings—was paid in three instalments:— £95 on 5th July, 1967; £89 on 6th January, 1969; and £73 on 10th November, 1972. The final payment of £73 was made following an inspector's report that water supply and sewerage work had been satisfactorily completed, and issued as follows:—£50 c/o Trustees Coolclough Group Water Scheme, from which a connection was obtained and £23 to Duhallow Building Society.

No further payment is due.
