Return to Writ: Monaghan. - Introduction of New Member.

The Clerk of the Dáil made the following announcement:
I gcomhlíonadh Bhuan-Ordú 138 de Bhuan-Orduithe Dháil Éireann i dtaobh Gnó Phoiblí, tá orm a chraoladh gur toghadh Breandán Ó Tuathail don Dáil sa Chorrthoghchán a bhí ann an 27adh Samhain, 1973, do Dháilcheantar Mhuineacháin de chionn an Teachta Erskine Childers a thoghadh ina Uachtarán ar Éirinn agus dá bhíthin sin gur measadh, de bhun an Bhunreachta, go raibh scartha aige lena shuíochán sa Dáil.
In compliance with Standing Order 138 of the Standing Orders of Dáil Éireann relative to Public Business, I have to announce that Brendan Toal has been elected to the Dáil at the By-Election held on 27th November, 1973, for the Constituency of Monaghan consequent on the election as President of Ireland of Deputy Erskine Childers who thereby, pursuant to the Constitution, was deemed to have vacated his seat in the Dáil.
Deputy Brendan Toal, the new Member for the Constituency of Monaghan, was introduced to the Ceann Comhairle by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach (Mr. Kelly) and Deputy B. Desmond.
