Mr. G. Collins

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the plans, if any, his Department have for assisting the production of protein concentrates like rape-seed.

The introduction of a separate national scheme of assistance towards protein production in addition to the 1974-75 marketing year.

Mr. Clinton

The production of colza, rape and sunflower seeds is already catered for under the EEC price support arrangements. Proposals to extend these arrangements to soya beans have still to be examined in the context of the review of prices for the market.
