Persons who are outside the range of the transport facilities provided by my Department qualify for maintenance grants to allow them to attend school. Although the person to whom the Deputy's question refers resides near Clifden community school, that school does not as yet provide instruction in the practical subjects which he is studying. He will, accordingly, be allowed a maintenance grant to attend the community school, Carna.
