Vol. 270 No. 9

Written Answers. - Meath Pension Arrears.

459.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when arrears of pension will be issued to a person (name supplied) in County Meath; and the reason for the delay.

The arrears of retirement pension amounting to £8.26 due in this case were paid on 21st February, 1974. The delay in payment arose from the necessity to ascertain the amount of disability benefit payments which were made to the claimant in the period from May, 1973, to October, 1973, and which, under statutory regulations, were required to be recouped out of arrears of retirement pension.
