Vol. 270 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Vocational Education Plans.

27.

asked the Minister for Education the present position of the plans of the vocational education committee for the Ballyfermot-Inchicore area, Dublin.

Mr. R. Burke

This matter is under consideration in my Department and I hope that it will be possible to arrive at a decision in regard to it in the near future.

Is the Minister aware that it is well over a year now since the Office of Public Works and the vocational education committee came to an arrangement about development in this area? Indeed, the Civil Service GAA Club have made arrangements to provide a pitch for the students in the proposed VEC school in the Inchicore-Ballyfermot area.

Mr. R. Burke

I am so aware.

Has there been no progress then in the last 12 months?

Mr. R. Burke

There are other bodies involved besides those mentioned by the Deputy.
