asked the Minister for Health the number of physically handicapped people living alone.

Such information as is available in my Department relates to persons in receipt of disabled persons' maintenance allowances under the Health Acts. The latest figures available are in respect of April, 1971 when there were approximately 4,147 such persons living alone or in a household with no other adult occupant.
