Vol. 272 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Electricity Supply.

57.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the ESB will improve the supply of electrical power in the Caltra district, Ballinasloe, County Galway in view of the inadequate service obtaining in that area at present.

I am informed by the ESB that the board have planned certain network improvements to improve the quality of the electricity supply in the Caltra district of County Galway. Work on the required improvements is scheduled to commence in two to three months time.

Mr. Kitt

Am I to understand from the Minister that the people in this area who cannot boil an egg on an electric cooker and who have very bad TV reception will have to wait for three months? Could he not hurry things up?

I will see that the Deputy's comments are brought to the attention of the relevant authority.

Mr. Kitt

They are true.
