Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Official Receptions and Travel Costs.

asked the Taoiseach (a) the cost of all official receptions given by him in the year ended 31st March, 1974, and (b) the cost of all journeys outside the State made by him, his Parliamentary Secretary and officials of his Department since 31st March, 1973.

The information is as follows: (a) £8,476; (b) £3,426.

asked the Minister for Health (a) the cost of all official receptions given by him in the year ended 31st March, 1974, and (b) the cost of all journeys outside the State made by him, his Parliamentary Secretary and officials of his Department since 31st March, 1973.

(a) The cost of all official receptions given by me during the year ended 31st March, 1974 was £3,632; (b) since 31st March, 1973, no journey made by me outside the State was paid for out of the Vote for Health. In the same period my Parliamentary Secretary made one journey which cost £45. Journeys made by officials of my Department cost £18,068. Of this, £4,609 was recovered from EEC funds and £289 was recovered from the funds of the Council of Europe.
