The special temporary derogations in respect of beef and pigmeat which were granted to the United Kingdom at the meeting of the Council of Ministers from 21st to 23rd March are matched by equivalent concessions to Ireland financed by FEOGA. The additional consumer subsidy on butter which the United Kingdom was authorised to pay from its own national funds applies equally to Irish butter imported into the UK as well as to UK home produced butter.
