Vol. 272 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estates.

24.

asked the Minister for Lands the present position concerning the Crowe estate, formerly Taylor's estate, Ardvahan, and the Taylor estate, Boherdaly, County Galway.

(Cavan): The Land Commission have been endeavouring to purchase the Crowe property on a voluntary basis but, in the event, negotiations proved unsuccessful. They propose to review the position in regard to the lands at the end of the year.

There are compulsory acquisition proceedings for the Taylor property. The price was recently determined by the appeal tribunal, and the Land Commission are now considering whether the proceedings should be continued.
