Vol. 274 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow School.

25.

asked the Minister for Education the long-term plans for Curtlestown National School, Enniskerry, County Wicklow.

Mr. R. Burke

Curtlestown National School has an average enrolment of 37 pupils. A vacancy occurred for an assistant teacher on 1st July, 1974. In accordance with normal practice an investigation is being made as to the probable future enrolment trends and as to whether a reorganisation of the educational facilities of the area should be effected. In the meantime the appointment of a qualified teacher as assistant in the school has been sanctioned on a temporary basis.

When does the Minister expect that the investigation he mentioned will terminate? I think the Minister mentioned an investigation into the number of pupils available for this school. When would the Minister expect that this report would be to hand in his Department?

Mr. R. Burke

I have no information as to when it will come to hand but I would say in the not too distant future.

Would the Minister keep me informed of the various details of this matter?

Mr. R. Burke

Certainly, I shall do so.
