asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will allow free travel to the widows of men who had enjoyed free travel.

The free travel scheme administered by my Department was designed primarily as a facility for persons over pension age, which is now 68 years. Extension of the scheme to widows under that age is not contemplated.
