asked the Taoiseach the number of workdays which were lost through strikes in the first six months of 1974 as compared with the same period in 1973 and in 1972.

The latest available data are those in respect of the period January-April, 1974. The numbers of man-days lost due to industrial disputes in the period January-April, 1974 is provisionally estimated at 134,300. The number of man-days lost in the period January-April, 1973 was 55,626 and the corresponding figure for January-April, 1972, was 46,355.
