Vol. 274 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cost of SDA Houses

47.

asked the Minister for Industry and commerce the effect the increased cost of fuel will have on the cost of cement; and if he will express the increased cost as a percentage on the cost of an SDA type of house.

The increased cost of fuel since the oil crisis situation arose resulted in an increase in the price of cement of £4.32 per ton.

I understand that this increase in the price of cement represents an increase of 1 per cent on the costs of an average size grant-type house of about 950 sq. feet floor area.
