Vol. 274 No. 11

Committee on Finance. - Business of Dáil.

Would you allow me to interrupt briefly, Sir, to move a motion which was the result of agreement between the Opposition Whip and myself? I move:

That pursuant to the Order of Dáil Éireann of yesterday that all Stages of the Finance Bill, 1974, be passed by 9 a.m. today, and notwithstanding anything contained in Standing Orders—

(i) at 8.30 a.m. the Question shall be put from the Chair that all amendments set down by the Minister for Finance for the Committee Stage and not yet disposed of are hereby made to the Bill and the Committee Stage is hereby completed; and

(ii) at 9 a.m. the Question shall be put from the Chair that all amendments set down by the Minister for Finance for the Report Stage and not yet disposed of are hereby made to the Bill and the Report Stage is hereby completed and the Bill is hereby passed by Dáil Éireann.

May I add that the entire House on both sides are grateful to the staff of Leinster House in all its offices and sections for their courtesy and helpfulness all through the night?

I would like to associate our side of the House with the tribute paid by the Parliamentary Secretary.

Question put and agreed to.
