Vol. 275 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilgarvan (Kerry) School.

40.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position concerning the proposed new central school for Kilgarvan, County Kerry; if he is aware of conditions in the existing old school: and the steps he proposes to take to improve facilities in the old school pending the building of the new one.

Mr. Kenny

Working drawings and specification for the new school at Kilgarvan have been completed and a quantity surveyor is being appointed. As soon as bills of quantities have been prepared and planning permission obtained tenders will be invited.

I am aware that the existing school at Kilgarvan is old. Repairs to it have recently been completed and any further works necessary to keep the building reasonably comfortable pending its replacement will receive attention.
