Ceisteanna——Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Bus Dispute.

16.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will conduct an inquiry into the recent Dublin bus dispute to ensure that the public will be made fully aware of all the facts relating to the disruption of this essential service.

I have made arrangements for an inquiry into the recent bus disputes with a view to determining what action might be taken to avoid the risk of similar disputes in CIE in the future.

Will the Minister make public the result of the inquiry he has initiated?

By whom is the inquiry being undertaken?

By Professor Brian Hillery.

What steps are proposed by the Minister to prevent the occurrence of further bus strikes?

The question deals with an inquiry.

The object of the inquiry is that if useful recommendations are made as a result of it, we may be able to establish procedures that would prevent a recurrence of the kind of disputes we have had in the recent past.
