Vol. 275 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Health Board Employees.

101.

asked the Minister for Health if any special leave arrangements have been made to give employees of health boards who have been elected to county councils, corporations and town commissioners time to attend meetings of those local bodies and their subsidiary committees.

The granting of special leave to an employee of a health board is primarily a matter for his chief executive officer. No special instructions have been issued by my Department with regard to granting of special leave to attend meetings of local authorities but I would, of course, assume that such leave would be readily granted.
