Vol. 276 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Children's Hearings System.

35.

asked the Minister for Justice the action, if any, he intends to take to implement a system of children's hearings similar to that which exists in Scotland.

The co-ordination of activities in the field of child care has been allocated by the Government to the Minister for Health who has set up a task force to review the whole body of child-care legislation, including the provisions governing the hearing of children's cases.

The question of what form children's hearings will take in the future will have to await the outcome of that review.
