I move:
That a sum not exceeding £2,203,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the period commencing on the 1st day of April, 1974, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1974, for the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Minister for Finance, including the Paymaster-General's Office and for payment of certain grants-in-aid.
Will the Minister indicate when he expects to be able to circulate to Deputies details of the out-turn of revenue and expenditure for the nine months ending December, 1974?
It will probably be in the first week of 1975.
When will they be circulated to Deputies?
They will be circulated during the recess.
The Minister will appreciate that since the budget date is 15th January and the Dáil resumes on 14th January there is a difference between the first week and the recess, particularly from my point of view.
As I have said, it will be in the first week of 1975, before the budget.
What I really want to know is how long before the budget?
As there is only a fortnight I should not like to be tied——
I should not like to receive them the day before the budget.
I would not wish that either.
