Vol. 276 No. 13

Ceisteanna — Questions. Written Answers. - Muckross Abbey Graveyard.

105.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will reconsider previous applications for an extension to Muckross Abbey burial grounds, County Kerry; and if he will provide the additional land for such development in the National Park in Killarney.

As I have stated in replies to previous questions on this subject it is neither practicable nor aesthetically desirable to extend the Muckross Abbey graveyard.

I have received a request to allocate an alternative site in the National Park for those families who had rights of burial at Muckross Abbey and while I do not hold out much hope that it will be possible to accede to this request I have agreed to examine the proposal.
