Vol. 277 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Christmas Postal Revenue.

53.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the fall in revenue, if any, that occurred during the Christmas postal period as compared with the same period in 1973 and 1972.

No fall in revenue occurred. Christmas postal revenue in 1974 was about £250,000 higher than in 1973 and about £400,000 higher than in 1972.

Was the volume of extra post down?

Could the Minister tell me if the volume of post was down this year?

I have already said that there was a small reduction in postage.

About 50 per cent?
