Vol. 278 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment Exchanges.

16.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will consider increasing the staff at the local employment exchanges to deal with the present large queues of unemployed persons more efficiently and to avoid unnecessary delays for those signing.

Steps have been taken to provide additional staff as required in employment exchanges, including the Employment Exchange, Cork.

17.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the plans he has for maintaining the employment exchange at Newmarket, County Cork.

As the Employment Office, Newmarket, County Cork, which is under the control of a branch manager, is providing a satisfactory service to the public, I have no plans to alter the present position there.
