I have informed the council that, on the information given to me by them, the provision of four only of the unusually large house type which they proposed for this scheme would be justified. I have also told them that I will agree to more of those large houses if they can satisfy me that they are needed. I am awaiting a further submission by the council.
Do I take it that if Westport UDC satisfied the Minister that more of this type of house were needed the Minister would give favourable consideration to such a proposal?
I have told them so in writing but they have not replied.
