Vol. 278 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Defence Forces Towel Supplies.

21.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether an Irish firm secured the contract for the supply of terry towels to the Defence Forces.

On the most recent occasion when a competition was held for these items four tenders were received, including two from Irish firms. The tenders were considered in accordance with the rules for Government contracts, as laid down in instructions by the Minister for Finance, and the contract, which was placed in December last, went to an English firm.
