Vol. 278 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Navan Farm.

13.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will acquire the Coogan farm at Hall-town, Clonmellon, Navan, County Meath and prevent its sale to a factory owner as there are some uneconomic farms within a mile of the farm.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the property referred to but I shall arrange to have the Deputy's representations brought to their attention.

The Land Commission have been notified and the sale to a factory owner is supposed to have gone through. There is a large number of small uneconomic holders within the area. I ask the Minister to treat this as a matter of urgency and to place on it a three-month standstill order.

The Minister has no power except to draw the attention of the Land Commission to this and I have undertaken to do that.
