The provision in the Defence Vote subheads for items such as defensive equipment, mechanical transport, petrol and fuel is a bulk one covering all components of the Defence Forces and figures for expenditure in respect of such items for the FCA are not readily available. Exclusive of the cost under these headings, the expenditure incurred on the FCA was as follows:—
Accounting period—1st April, 1972 to 31st March, 1973— £2,968,297; 1st April, 1973 to 31st March, 1974—£3,211,107; 1st April, 1974 to 31st December, 1974— £2,973,736.
The projected expenditure for the year which commenced on the 1st January, 1975 is £3,421,956.
